Scenic Local Flying Routes
Enjoy views across the countryside and Chiltern Hills. Depending on your route, you may see Henley, Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey), or Waddesdon Manor.
This is a popular flying experience in Buckinghamshire and a convenient flying experience near London for first-time flyers and aviation enthusiasts.
If you live nearby and want to fly over your own house or a particular local area, Progress Flying School will try to accommodate your request where possible.

- Q What aircraft will I fly in?
- A Ikarus C42.
- Q Are there age, weight, or medical restrictions?
- A Almost anyone can fly. Participants must be at least 16 years old and under 16 stone (approximately 100kg).
- Q How long is the flight?
- A 45 minutes from engine start to engine stop.
- Q What should I bring?
- A A camera, sunglasses, and comfortable flat shoes (no flip flops). Skirts and dresses are not advisable.
- Q Can spectators come along?
- A Yes. There is a cafe with a garden for guests.
- Q Is the flight weather dependent?
- A Yes. Microlight flying is weather dependent; if conditions are poor, your booking is re-arranged for another date.
